NO zoom controller will work with PMW-200 after Firmware Upgrade to V1.32
Wonder if anyone else is having this problem. I sent my -200 in to Sony for some minor work and at the same time they upgraded my firmware to V1.32. I get the camera back and my Libec zoom controller will not work. Call Sony and they say it must be the zoom controller but it worked perfectly before the firmware upgrade. I get Libec to send me a new one and that one does not work either but works perfectly on my EX1R. I order a Varizoom controller and same thing. Works fine on my on my EX1R but dead on my -200. Called Sony and they suggested I try and reset the camera which did not help either. Only option was to try a Manfrotto controller from B&H and the same thing. Dead but works fine on the EX1R. So I have a $6200 that cannot use any zoom controller. Has anybody heard about something like this or have any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm thinking you need to look elsewhere for the problem.
I have frimware v1.32 on my PMW-200 and both of my zoom controllers work with it. I have a Bebob Zoe EX and a Libec (Tripod handle model for standard zoom lenses that has an EX cable adapter on it.) I assume you've checked and played with the Remote zoom speed setting in the camera menu? Could they have disconnected something internally during the servicing? |

Thanks Dave for the input. I have played with the internal zoom speed and it works fine with the lever on top and of the camera and with Sony's wireless remote but again all the external controllers are dead. NO movement at all. I bet something is disconnected in the camera. I hate to go back to Sony because they charge $135 just for looking at the camera but I guess I may have no choice. It does shoot beautiful video so that is the most important thing!
