Label a clip in PMW-300
I'm sure there is an easy way to do this, but I can't find it in the manual. When recording ambient audio, I want to be able to push a button and have a mark, or the word "audio", or some distinguishing feature placed in just that one clip. That way, when reviewing later, I don't delete the clip as a time when the camera was just left running by mistake! Thanks for any suggestions.

I met a guy that used to record audio with another camera. When recording a clip for audio only he would place a lens cap on that had five holes drilled in it in a cross shape. When he saw a black clip with five bright dots he knew it was for audio only. If nothing else, you might try something similar.

Or throw up bars for audio only. Easy to see in the clips display.

Or, if you just finished the shot and decided it was audio only and were stupid enough to leave your Time Machine in the car thus prohibiting you traveling back in time, Check out the Clip Operations Menu "OK Mark". Maybe you can assign it to a button. You could on the predecessor EX1R. YMMV

On the remote for the camera there is a 'shotmark' buttons #1 and #2 that can be used whilst the camera is recording, primarily to make easy identification of good takes.
You could always adapt the functionality for your specific purpose. Andrew |
