Advice on using Flipcam and/or 60D b-roll video with EX1r
Got an interview to do that I'll be capturing with my EX1r but I'd like to set up a cover two-shot and maybe position either the Flipcam or Canon 60D on me to record some of my questions and some interviewer reaction shots. Any recommendations on what settings I should use on my EX1r for easy of editing in FC Studio (the last edition)? The Flipcam is 1280 x 720p. The 60D shoots at various frame rates. Since my primary camera (EX1r) has great flexibility and can shoot at 1280 x720p, should I set it at that rate to match the Flip and 60D? Or should I shoot at 1920x 1080p and up convert? What other variables should I be considering? Appreciate your weigh-in.

Re: Advice on using Flipcam and/or 60D b-roll video with EX1r
My feeling is that you're setting yourself up for a color correction nightmare if you are trying to match the look of the shots from those three cameras. If you are really trying to match them, then start by setting them all to the same resolution. Do a series of tests in advance of shooting - and analyze them in your edit system using waveforms and vectorscopes. At some point early in the process you will need to decide whether it's ok to have the EX1R look significantly better than the other cameras, or whether to reduce the look of the three cameras to the 'lowest common denominator'. The main thing is to spend time figuring this out in advance of the actual shoot. Or do yourself a favor and rent a second EX1R,,,
