Great video
Watched it all the way thru. The giraffe's made me laugh. Certainly made me want to go on one of their safari's. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Bob, I appreciate your comments.
The African House Safari's are excellent, The CEO David Sugden knows his stuff and can sniff out wildlife at almost every turn. He has kitted out his 4x4's with all sorts of mounts for every camera type. etc. I enjoyed my time out there, but it was hard work.

Re: Video on Sony web site
Great scenes, good music selection.
Having been in east Africa on safari twice, you're right, shooting video is hard work. Safety first is always uppermost, so I was surprised to see those Giraffe up close to the kids. Imo that gives the wrong impression, you're not supposed to feed wild animals and they wouldn't have been allowed near our camps. Our guides took that very seriously. Cheers.

Re: Video on Sony web site
That sequence was shot at Giraffe Manor which is on the outskirts of Nairobi. It is a sanctuary for Giraffes and although they are quite tame at this location, there is a strict policy of not allowing people to go outside with the animals.
The Manor is a popular tourist attraction, which has been featured in major films such as White Mischief and Out of Africa, but I do agree with you that animals should be seen in their natural habitat.

Re: Video on Sony web site
Hi Vincent, you know that the various African authorities take animal care, health and protection very seriously.
You've really got to go there to see it in action .. right? When we last travelled on safari in Tanzania, we saw strict rules signposted at the borders, including fines for vehicles that stray off the designated tracks, rules and charges for pro video shooters, and various jail times for anyone approaching, scaring, feeding or injuring any animals whatsoever. Their rangers have spotters in aircraft and on high ground. Those Giraffe shown like that in your video are a worry. As it's on a public forum, I'd have mentioned the sanctuary situation in the commentary and end credits. Sony might get some complaints. Cheers.

Re: Video on Sony web site
Thanks for pointing this out Alan,
I don't think there is any reason for concern as this place is world famous for the way the Giraffes interact with the public. I am sure the authorities would have stepped in years ago if there was a problem.
