Re: PMW-200 Firmware Update V1.10

It looks like they will not support USB host mode for footage. Only for Camera Setup files.

Auto Flange Back is VERY useful because EX1/EX1R owners know occasional knocks can shift the backfocus of the camera enough to get things out of focus.

Re: PMW-200 Firmware Update V1.10

Yay. I upgraded mine.

However, I could not finish Auto FB Adjust thingy. Don't have 10 feet of total free space at wideangle view :(

Re: PMW-200 Firmware Update V1.10

You need a Siemen Star in order to do the Auto FB adjust properly and 3 meters (10 feet) of space between the camera and the Siemen Star.

Here's one from Zeiss on B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/717671-REG/Zeiss_1849_755_Siemens_Star_Test_Chart.html
Make sure you are on F1.9 when you are doing your adjustments.

Or, you could download one of these and print it out yourself:

That all depends on the DPI of your printer. Remember that the camera has to do the adjustment on full wide as well, so you need a big sheet of paper and a high DPI to DIY a Siemens Star.

The one I have from Fujinon folds out to as big as a 15'' laptop.

Re: PMW-200 Firmware Update V1.10

I downloaded the largest version I could find on the web and went to a local print shop (Kinkos, here in the States) and had them print out a bunch of them in roughly 14 x 20 size. And, from 10 feet or more, you'll never see the difference in resolution. They pop in and out of focus VERY noticeably during the calibration process. I've done my camera a couple times over the last 4 years.

Re: PMW-200 Firmware Update V1.10

You don't need the Siemens chart. Any flat surface with a fine pattern will work, for example a wall with wall patterned wall paper or even a brick wall. The wall doesn't need to fill the frame, as long as it fills at least the central 1/3rd of the frame you should be OK. The key thing is to make sure the camera is perpendicular with the wall or target chart and at least 3m (10ft) away. I get best results when the camera is about 4m from the target. In an emergency you can also use large computer screen or TV as the target by displaying a static resolution chart or siemens chart on the screen.

Re: PMW-200 Firmware Update V1.10

Does anyone have a link to instructions as to how to perform the upgrade on the camera?
