Re: new PMW-200: fatal (for me) flaw
I don't understand the power connector placement either. My guess is done to simply make it harder to use 3rd party batteries, but as noted it also makes it impossible to hot swap batteries.
Companies like Swit and Dynacore are clever and adaptable. I'm quite sure they will work out ways around the problem and defeat Sony's attempt to stop them making batteries for the camera making the placement of the power connector inside the battery compartment a waste of effort. There are some things that Sony do that really don't make any sense and this is one of them.

Re: new PMW-200: fatal (for me) flaw
I hate hand holding my EX1R, and the rotating hand grip doesn't make it any easier, cause the camera is so left heavy, and my thumb doesn't naturally find the record button.
Every time I pick up my Z1, I curse and wish the EX1R was as easy to hold. I could go hours hand shooting with the Z1. No way with the EX1R. I'm one who prefers eye level shots. |
