EX1 SDI-out for SNG
Hi all,
Last thursday my colleague was on location and needed to playout his pre-recorded footage to an SNG-van through the SDI output of his PMW-EX1 (no EX-deck onboard this SD-SNG). I did this once with my PMW-350 without any issues but we couldn't get any downconverted SD-signal from the EX1's SDI-output now. Of course the output was set to SD-SDI in the menu. What were we missing? Is it possible what I''d like to do? Any help is welcome to prevent this from happening in the futures. SNG's and OBV's with an EX-deck onboard are still very rare in Europe... Thanks. |

Re: EX1 SDI-out for SNG
If you discover that there is no SDI coming out and can't find any menu item that
is preventing it, save your settings to the SXS and then do a full reset. That should bring the SDI back. |

Re: EX1 SDI-out for SNG
If memory serves, I think if hdv firewire out is enabled, it can disable the sdi out.
The way the output circuits are handled on those EX cameras has always bothered me! Why can you only have SD out or HD... etc But, as above, the quick fix is always a reset. Usually cures most ills, when some obscure setting has been switched on |

Yep, Peter is correct. It took me a long time to figure that one out.
