Thunderbolt sxs card reader
I've just stumbled on this interesting SxS card reader:
Sonnet - Echo ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt Adapter This seems to be able to solve the download speed for those who do not use macbook pros's equipped with sxs card readers. Its indicated price is much more enticing than the current Sonnet reader. Has anyone heard anything on it? Will it be able to read the Sony SxS cards? The picture indicates that it does but somewhere in the FAQ's seems to indicate that this is not so. Any idea? |

Re: Thunderbolt sxs card reader
I think I found an answer to my query - it does support Sony sxs cards as can be seen from here:

Re: Thunderbolt sxs card reader
It also solves the power problem of the Sony USB reader which requires a power supply or SWIT battery.

Re: Thunderbolt sxs card reader
Good... this means that if and when I get a newer 15" MacBook Pro (that has Thunderbolt), I'll be able to carry on as normal—without the ExpressCard slot that my current, aging, MBP has.
Quick question. Does the Pro version of the Thunderbolt adapter hold any advantage to someone like me, who uses regular SxS cards? thanks, Malcolm |

I reviewed it here:
Sonnet EchoExpress Thunderbolt Adapter SxS Speed Tests. | XDCAM-USER.COM It's between 3 and 4 times faster than connect via USB.

Re: Thunderbolt sxs card reader
I'm wondering how or if a thunderbolt to HDMI adapter would work with my Mac Pro. I have a black magic Intensity Pro capture card that will accept HDMI
