Reindexing / Repairing XDcam-Files after File-Recovery?
Hey everybody!
I recovered some XDcam-Files from an external Harddrive (i accidentally formatted) using "Disk Doctor's Photo Recovery". The recovered MP4-Files play well in VLC-Player, but when I try to import them into Premiere 5.5 (which imports "normal" XDcam-MP4s perfectly) i get an error message that the files are damaged and can't be opened. Is there a way to repair these files? My guess would be that they need to be reindexed because VLC Player rebuilds the Index every time i play one of them.... Thanks for your help! |

Try to import the MP4 files alone through XDCAM Browser/Clip Browser and use the work folder that XDCAM Browser imported the MP4s to in Premiere CS5.5.
Enable the CRC check options in XDCAM Browser to see if that helps too. If worse comes to worse, making a contiguous file is key, (meaning consistent data) so you could try Handbrake and converting to H.264 MP4s. |
