MOTION DETECTOR that will trigger the SONY EX1 Camera ??
Hello there everyone.
I hope you're all lining up a great Holiday Season. Since the Infrared remote allows remote operation of the Sony EX1 Camera from a distance, does anyone know of a devise, or does anyone have the capabilities for making a devise, that will trigger the infrared remote or the camera itself via a "motion detector" ? In other words, we have a special project coming up, where we need to lock the camera down in a location, and have it shoot only when a motion detector triggers it. I don't know if something like this already exists or will have to be built, but we need it nevertheless. Any help or advise is appreciated. Thanks. |

You will likely have to build that yourself.
See if this video gives you any inspiration for the project: How to stop cats pissing on your car, The best cat video ever! - Craig Turner - YouTube

Thanks for the video reference, Chris. I was truly Laughing Out Loud! :-)
If one really wanted to make a DIY sensor and camera trigger with passive-infra-red (PIR), you could simply get something like one of these: PIR Motion Sensor - SparkFun Electronics No need to disassemble anything in your house (or your car). Not as clear what it takes to start/stop an EX1. Certainly you could feed the proper Lan-C code into the remote jack. But it would take writing a little code into a microcontroller (like Arduino, etc.) |
