You might want to consider a more generic shoulder mount which you can use with other cameras, especially as your currently using BP-U batts. V-Lock batts and charger are not cheap items. The ProTech works, but it's not the most elegant engineering I've seen.

I can vouch for Olof's mount. It's pretty much a permanent installation on my EX-3. However; I did already have the IDX brick system, so it was an easy and cost effective transition

Olof's is an excellent support system. You may also look at this one from DM-Accessories: DM-Accessories — EX3-SHOULDER Shoulder Brace For EX3 Camcorders
I have used the original design for the last 3 years to good effect.

here's my support shoulder brace. The nanoflash is screwed on with a bracket on the back. Works for me!

Re: EX3 Users I need input -Exmount or ST7 mount ????
I've become a big fan of the Genus Rig. It's the first outfit that lets me shoulder mount and maintain balance and functionality. I also use the original batteries or Switek to run my Nano and the extra weight on the back just makes balance a breeze, even for long periods.
With the aid of Manfrotto zoom controller (the smallest I could find), I no longer have to remove my hand from the handles to start, stop or zoom the lens. |
