editing mxf files in final cut/help
gave a client ex1r mxf files for them to edit themselves. they have final cut pro and say they cant open it
in fnal cut. i was told you can or is just certain versions that will? also told that sony has a download that will allow them to edit these files. went to sony page and found nothing. any links/help appreciated too busy now to convert those files to quicktime and he needs to do this asap. im told final cut 7 you can drop them right on timeline, he as final cut 9, also gave them the mtf files off my avchd camera, what about those??? |

The BPAV folders just as they came off the cards from the camera is the way to transfer material to someone else - then you can use any NLE without any issues.

sorry, he said he had final cut pro 9, which there isnt one, so not sure what version he has. i told him to buy ray light to convert it

The only way I can get .MXF files into my FCP is to use XDCam Transfer which converts them to .MOV files.
