audio noise while zooming
OK, mine as well get my questions out of the way. I was taking some video the other night and had the headphones on and I could really hear the zoom motor on my camera when zooming in and out. It didn't matter if it was with my controller or on the camera itself. Is this just noise I am hearing in my headphones or is it really capturing this noise on my footage?
I am trying to test this, but since I cannot view it on my computer (earlier post), I cannot identify if this is an issue. Thought someone might be able to ease my worries here. ? |

Re: audio noise while zooming
Well, if it's anything like pretty much every other camera I've ever used (small form factor, not full sized) then yeah it's probably on the media. However it may not be as bad as it sounds. If you've got the level of the phones raised then you might be hearing it more than it actually is. Load up the media, see how bad it really is, then you can either use a noise reduction program or some EQ to knock it out.
The best thing to do of course is to seperate the mic from the camera as much as possible then the noise isn't even an issue.

Re: audio noise while zooming
From headphones of the XHA1 to the headphones of the EX1R, the sound is much greater. I have the mic on the back cold shoe and I always need this on the camera facing forward as I record hunts, so sound in the direction I am recording is a must.
My video is now working on my computer, but the audio is not, so once I figure this out, I should be able to see if it is noticable on my footage or not. |
