lens control block cover
While I was searching on my EX1R for the hidden USB socket - I pulled the cap off the "lens control block" cover. Now I can't get it back on...little rubber pegs won't go back in the tiny holes!
any suggestions? I guess a little piece of duct tape will keep it in the vicinity (!) |

Re: lens control block cover
A tiny dab of K-Y Jelly will make them slide back in and then evaporate. You could also try dish washing liquid. You don't want any excess as this could drip onto the electronics inside.

Re: lens control block cover
I'm not comfortable putting any liquids near it. I'll try to get hold of someone from Sony. thanks
(later) I talked to a guy at Sony - and he removed it and put it back on as we talked. So I guess I'll just keep trying to force it back in* (?) *[that's what she said] if anyone cares, I trimmed the rubber pegs down with a utility knife, and was able to get the cover back on. The moral of the story is - DON'T TAKE THAT COVER OFF!!! Last edited by Robert Bobson; July 25th, 2011 at 11:14 AM. |

Re: lens control block cover
There's a small hole with a screw adjustment - some kind of fine-tuning done at the factory for the lens.
