Repalcement viewfinder
Ok, this is a real long shot - but does anyone have - or know where I might be able to find - a second-hand/used viewfinder for an EX-3?
I'm talking about the detachable section that flips up - and includes the eyepiece and lenses. (Sony part nos. 203, 206 and 211 onwards) I've talked to several Sony repair centres in the UK and they're all talking serious $$$ for a new replacement - on a par with the kind of money involved in the IMF bail-out of Greece! Yes, you can use the camera with just the LCD - but it's just possible someone, somewhere has an unused viewfinder or a repair shop has a damaged camera which can be broken down for spares.

Re: Repalcement viewfinder
I rebuilt the eyepiece loupe on my EX3 to give more magnification. I may have the original somewhere.

Re: Replacement viewfinder
I thought there might be at least one somewhere in the world - but I didn't reckon on it being on the other side of the globe!
I guess Alastair that probably means we won't be meeting up halfway! If you do have some success in tracking it down, please do let me know. Many thanks, Sean

Re: Repalcement viewfinder
Another one here down under, Sydney this time. I bought a mint used one of ebay when I was playing around at making up a viewfinder system for an EX1. Ended up making one out of a Panasonic AJD-700 viewfinder. So I know there is a complete EX3 V/F flip assembly, from the hinge point back to and incl the rubber eycup floating around here somewhere so will have a look for it. Will take some pix of it and mail them to you. If it's what you are after you could be in luck.

Re: Replacement viewfinder -- Arrived
Thanks to the Oz factor, and the offers of help from Alastair and Chris, I've finally sorted the issue out.
A replacement viewfinder has now arrived from the otherside of the world.... ...a great testament to the great community that is DVInfo. And many thanks to the organisers for creating and enabling this great global resource.
