Streamclip opening clips
I'm trying to get Streamclip to open video files shot on EX3 - both BPAV.MP4 and Nanoflash.mov. It reads the stream info correctly but goes no further.
I've followed the guides on the Squared 5 website about MPEG2 component and have tried on both Mac and PC (using Quicktime Alternative) to no avail. Handbrake reads them fine and converts them to .m4v on the PC so I find it a puzzle and frustrating that Streamclip (the far more able tool generally) can't. |

Re: Streamclip opening clips
Streamclip may depend on the Quicktime codec being installed.
Try VLC. BTW there's a Mac version of Handbrake as well so if you need to try that, give it a go as well. |

Re: Streamclip opening clips
Thanks Craig.
VLC plays everything fine but can't convert to anything else. Streamclip needs Quicktime Alternative OR Quicktime installed but not both - the former has the MPEG-2 component needed whereas the latter doesn't unless purchased. I guess I'll have to manage with Handbrake output until FCPro X release and then can use the XDCAM Transfer tool. |
