Least flare wide adapter for ex1?
Ok, I've read all the threads about wide angles for EX1/EX3s two times and
I can't get a consensus in my head. I'm recording fireworks and I'm looking for the lens that has the least flare and minimizes the amount of close focus/macro since the lens is typically covered in fireworks garbage. I suppose these two requirements are in opposition because the simpler non-zoom through lenses which have a small number of elements invariably require close and macro focusing. I went through 6 or so wide adapters for my VX2000 back in the day. From this prior experience I know that I want a non-zoom through since the zoom through lenses have a bunch of surfaces and more surfaces means more internal reflections. My current rig for VX2000's are all CA vision on step down rings. I don't care about distortion since there are few straight lines in fireworks. I'd even accept a bit of softness. No zooming either. I need something between 0.5 and 0.8 reduction. There actually are a lot of options. I'm going to list the adapters that have two or less elements or are generally not zoom through: 0.6 WA HD from Schneider looks like 1 element 0.5 LWA05X86B-EX1 from Cavision 1 element/1 group They say it is new? 0.6 BWA06X86B-EX1 from Cavision 1 element/1 group They say it vignettes so not good for me 0.7 LWA07X86B-EX1 from Cavision 1 element/1 group Also listed as new? 0.8 169-HDWC8X-EX EXII from 16x9 "2 elements" and zoom through Probably will flare at bit? 0.75 169-HD75XA-EX from 16x9 zoom through? 0.6 169-HDWA6X-EX from 16x9 not zoom through so might be good option 0.66 FEX-055 from Zunow Single element but expensive. 0.75 DWA-075 from Zunow ...and all of the Red Eye lenses. Has anybody used any of the ?new? Cavision or Zunow lenses on an ex1? |
