SDI vs. HDMI
I'm just curious if anyone has done an actual comparison of the output on the EX1r between the SDI and HDMI. I'm wondering if the signal is actually identical or if Sony tweaked the HDMI output to be more suited for consumer HDTV's. Has anyone ever analyzed this on bench equipment?
Just curious, Garrett |

I can tell you that the HDMI is only 8 bit whereas the SDI is 10 bit. According to Dan at Convergent Design, no camcorder outputs 10 bit over HDMI.

Another thing is no timecode over HDMI.
