has anyone tried this for the ex3
anton bauer qr-ex3

seems it would balance the cam better, would prefer something simple like this that having to attach one of the many shoulder adaptors out there.

Yes it does balance the camera out a somewhat better but not as good as the mounts where you throw the batt right over your shoulder... as expected. Two great things, no 3 great things about this unit. Relatively cheap considering you get a Gold mount adapter and a cord in the unit. You also get a D-Tap/P-Tap plug in the top of the gold mount for attaching accessories and there are a couple of screw holes along the side that are designed to allow you to attach a BEC plate. You can slap some industrilal velcro on them for mounting things like wireless receivers, a nanoFlash and the like. Makes for a very compact setup.

You can remove the protruding bits. Those are designed for people with Lectrosonic wireless units.

You may be interested in my AntonBauer or IDX solution, I make both.

This really balances the camera and makes the base of the Camera very solid.

There is also a "wing" and NanoFlash Arms available to hold accessories that also helps balance and are rugged mounts.

In the photos below the IDX plate is shown, but I have AB plates in stock as well.

The D-tap is left open, for accessories and there is a power chord for the EX3 directly out of the plate.
