Just a quick update.
Shot the main courtroom very early in the morning with Standard 4 Gamma curve and adjusted knee until I got a happy compromise. Managed to maintain the detail in the very dark wood of the Judge's bench, Docks and Pews (is that what the public seating is called in a court?) I got great results except for one thing. The stone walls have been rendered with lime and should be white. Over the years they have yellowed a bit and any surfaces that aren't exactly vertical have a fine sheen of red dust on them. In order to achieve the best results for everything else I was trying to expose correctly, the dust colour has changed slightly and appears pinkish. This is despite carefully setting the white balance and achieving as close as I could hope to true colour matching with everything else. It's peculiar, but not a deal-breaker. And good news! I've found someone who makes travel DVD's for national distribution - and they want my footage. Yippee. Cheers Russ |
