How do I set 1/50 sec for 1080 50i?
I own a 2 year old EX1, firmware hase been updated to v1.20, everyting works fine, but I have a question. I shoot PAL 1080 50i. According to Doug Jensen's DVD, I should set my shutter speed to 1/50 sec. for best results, but looking at the shutter speed selections that I have available, for 1080 50i the slowest speed is 1/60 sec. When set to 1080 25p, shutter speeds down to 1/33 sec. are available.
Is the shutter speed setting, when on interlaced, the speed per frame or per field? How do I set my shutter speed to be 1/50 sec. when I am shooting 1080 50i? Does a shutter angle of 180 give me this figure? Any enlightenment on this topic would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Last edited by Harro Skapinskas; September 30th, 2010 at 07:29 PM. |

Hi Harro,
For 1/50th shutter speed in 50i, just turn the shutter off. I'm sorry if that was not made clear in my DVD. Same thing goes for 60i. If you want a shutter speed of 1/60th, just turn the shutter off. Vortex Media: VIDEO & PHOTO Tools and Training
