Sony service? Or is it just a myth?

Has anyone else had trouble getting hold of an actual person in the service dept. of the service dept in Coquitlam BC Canada?
All I ever get is a message that the guy is out of the office and that he's sorry he's missed my call.
That is not service in any way shape or form.
I'm glad he gets out of the office but come on he's never in it!
I got quite the shock when I was finally able to check my firmware on my EX3 only to find it was at 1.02_0078. Then I can't upgrade myself from this version according to the firmware download page.
Seeing Sony's attitude toward cameras getting bricked by owners I don't want to take the chance and do it myself. That leaves me in a bit of a spot as my MxM-32GB combo's don't work properly with this version of "their" software!
A bit more than a little disappointed.

Check your email I sent you the contact info. The number Sony initially gives you routes you to either Toronto or Montreal and then they pass you on to your local place. The numbers I sent you are local ones.

Failing that just drive out there and talk to someone. They are understaffed and usually quite busy. Techs are always there. Reception is often unmanned.

I have found them to be very good.
Took my EX1 in for upgrade, took only 3 hours.

Thanks guys.
I think I just hit them at a bad time. Everyone needs summer holidays.
I'm also just excited to try out my MxM cards. I have 32 GB's of memory goodness to test out.
