Should I Be Worried?
While shooting today on my EX1, the zoom and focus stopped responding. I had it set on Manual focus and servo zoom and was shooting handhled. It happened within the first 10mins of operation. Everything worked as normal after I turned the camera off and on.
Could this be a symptom of something about to break or was it just a glitch? Thanks |

Only a Sony engineer can answer that. Get it checked out.

I had this happen to my EX1 when it was only a month old, and I was far far away from help. It lost ability to focus altogether, auto or manual.
I had is serviced under warranty and sony replaced the complete lens setup. Suggest you get it serviced as a priority.

Gosh, this looks like a trend! I have had my EX-1 lens replaced by Sony do to focus control slipping as well.

To those that had the focus go bad - did the zoom also go bad?

Only focus for me. They just want the camera sent in. Call them up and they will fax you a document to include with the camera.
