EX1 / Rode NTG-2 combo
Hello all,
Do some of you maybe use the Rode NTG-2 as standard mic on the EX1? I am about to rent the EX1 for a day next week to do some quick run&gun voxspots at a noisy airportterminal. The rental house offers it as it is out of the box with no additional mic but due to the circumstances there I really think I do need one. They offered me the Sennheiser ME-62/K6 combo at an additional charge but I own the Rode NTG-2 myself so I am really dubbing if I should pay this additional charge or take my own mic. Somebody with experience on the EX1/Rode NTG-2 combo? Thanks for the help. Gabor |

The Rode should be fine. I use both the K6/ME66 and NTG2, with my EX1. Whichever mic you decide to use, you are going to have to get it as close to the subject as possible, as with all mics. The Sennheiser is a lot hotter than the Rode and will give you a slight edge if you cant get in close enough to the subject. Both are decent mics and perform reasonably well.

Colin,
Thanks for your reply. I will stick to my own Rode mic for this day. Gabor |
