AT897 mic w/ex1r
renting this mic for the weekend, how good is the quality on it, using on a boom for interviews/doc style and will it fit in the mic holder on the ex1r?

I have a couple of them, I use them for live weddings and such. Solid mics. I've never really boomed them.

I would avoid putting the mic in the EX1's mic holder. Too much risk of breaking the fragile mic mount unless it's been reinforced. There are posts on this forum describing how it's done.
Instead, get a third-party mic holder. It'll keep your factory mic holder from being wrecked, and also provide much better vibration isolation.
