How to view EX .movs from FCP, on a PC

I have created QT .movs from xdcam ex clips, by importing them into FCP using Log+Transfer. Do clients need anything on their PC other than QuickTime, to view these movs?

CalibratedSoftware XDCAM EX .MOV plugin for non FCP systems (Mac and Windows versions). It's about $80.

You should really give them the source BPAV and ClipBrowser which costs nothing.

Or VLC (also free), which plays much better full-screen than the CB, and can scan all contents of the BPAV structure for uninterrupted playback of all clips.

Cheers Craig - wanted to avoid needing them to download clipbrowser and was advised that QT was fine for them - do you mean xdcam movs will NOT work on a PC without the Calibrated software?

I didn't mean using VLC to play movs. I seconded Craig in his opinion that the full BPAV should always be handed over, and all mp4's inside it can be played back after directing VLC to the BPAV root folder.

VLC will play the .mp4 files inside the BPAV\CLPR folder. Once you convert the files in clipbrowser, they are good for either Mac (.MOV) or PC (MXF). The two do not cross over without 3rd party software.

Best just to give someone the BPAV folders and let them do what they need.
