PDW F75 deck doesn't support S. def?
Is this right - i have some SD disks from the field that i've put in a clients PDW-F75 deck and it is saying "no support". Has Sony really made a $US16.5K deck that won't read Standard def XDCam disks? Or do I need a firmware upgrade or something?
thanks John |

You need to purchase the optional SD PDBK-104 board if you want DVCAM SD read/record. This deck cannot read/write SD IMX discs even with the SD PDBK-104.

Hmmm - not my deck and glad i didn't purchase it. Thanks Thierry _ I saw that in the specs and assumed it was for digital or analogue playback not for FAM.
The things a glorified BluRay recorder and writer - why the heck can't it read a file system at least in FAM? I can understand why it may not be able to playback media via SDI or analogue, but at the end of the day these a files sitting on an optical disk. Should be able to read it via FAM. Sometimes Sony just abuse the privilege (IMO). |
