EX3 Fujinon Wide Lens - Too big for matte box?
I love my EX3, I love my new Fujinon wide zoom (which is so much better than any adaptor I've tried btw). Problem now is I need a matte box.
The Indikit 'Broadcast' model I ordered (their top of the range) sadly does not work. It is a well-made, reasonably-priced piece of kit, but it is too small for this lens - okay top to bottom, but way too narrow. The frame looks like a pillar box image. This lens is around 100 mm across - will I even be able to use 4" filters? Having spent so much on the lens, I have a limited budget - please can anyone advise? Thanks. |

With big front end lenses you do usually need to use serious matte boxes (ie espensive). 4" filters will be fine but you'll need something like a Vocas MB200 or more, or a big Chrosziel. Will be about £400 at least.

Thanks Steve. The Indikit one is £399 anyway. Will check out the ones you mentioned.

VOCAS SYSTEMS BV MB315 is the entry level full size matte box, actually about £800!

I have a Chrosziel CMB-R20, it has a 110mm aperture. They probably produce a 100-110 step to suit. About $800us with a french flag and 2 4x4 rotating filters.
