No manual for Clipbrowser?
After quite a bit of searching I can not seem to locate a users manual for Sony Clipbrowser v2.6 Is it simply not available? The CRC function is what I'm most interested in taking advantage of.

I have the 2.6 manual. I don't remember how I got it. I don't think it's in the Sony US site download zip.
I'd be willing to upload it. Sorry if offering breaks any rules but Sony makes their site, particularly the USA site impossible to navigate to find such things. |

Thanks Craig. I was reading some old posts yesterday where in you mildly chastised someone for not using clipbrowser to copy media. Well, after 25yrs of shooting and using the EX-3 since its release without incident, I finally lost an interview due to corrupt media. I look forward to taking full advantage of the 2.6 manual.
Thanks, Dave |

Yup, Dave it only takes once.
I guess I can't say I've been as lucky as you have in my pre EX days. I've had things ranging from drop outs to creased to complete split tapes over 30 years. It's not often but often enough. In the above cases one can blame the tape or the gear. CRC checking is an immense help. BTW Sony does very little to explain good work habits with the EX. I think their FCP workflow PDF on their site is all about XDCAM Transfer and mentions virtually nothing about ClipBrowser and the importance of having an archived master. |
