transferring files from ex1r
dont have an sxs card reader, so im transferring footage via the usb cable. is it slower doing it this way. taking 28 minutes to transfer 15 gb.

Yes, it is slower directly from the camera compared to reading the SXS in my MacBook Pro. I trust you are using Clip Browser with CRC on to ensure copied clips are verified. I always spot check some of the clips as well.

where to you turn crc on?
i just export them as mxf files to a folder on multiple files |

In Clip Browser:
Perference pane>edit pulldown>copy>Perform CRC check after copy

Don't forget to backup your original BPAV folders, too. In my opinion, they are much more important to safeguard than your MXF converted files.
