Problems with SDI out?
I connected my EX1 via BNC cable to a video switcher but never got an image. I had set the outputs to SD / edge cropped to output a more or less 4:3 SD image, but it didn't matter.
I'm assuming that there are "flavors" of video that travel over SDI - this switcher is an older model, but I thought it ought to just work. Has anyone else had a problem with SDI connectivity (that they were able to solve)? Love to hear about that. |

You mention your switcher is an older model. Be aware that the BNC input of a switcher may be composite analog rather than Serial Digital Interface.
I have used my EX1 both HD-SDI and Standard Def SDI into my MXO2-LE without any issue. |

SDI - analog
Thanks. It's possible that's the problem. We actually tried the composite out with a adapter plug but that was "no picture" as well. I've only actually used the component out for a monitor while shooting, so it's a bit mysterious.

I don't think you can get both SDI and Composite out at the same time. I recall bumping into this as well recently. Turn off SDI out in the menu and I believe Composite will become active.
