EX1R Firmware and MxR

I am sure someone answered this, but after an hour of searching through the various MxM threads I came up empty, so here goes...

I would like to grab some MxR adaptors and either the ATP or Sandisk cards for our new Sony EX1r. The firmware on the camera is 1.0. Was it only the EX1 models that need to be at 1.11 for flash cards to work?

Thx.

I have a variety of adaptors and SDHC cards- they all seem to work fine in the EX1r with the current firmware (1.0)

The EX1R firmware is different and the numbering will have started again. The EX1 needed the 1.11 upgrade because originally there was no USB to the card slots. The upgrade enabled the Sony hard disc unit, and as a side-efect, the SDHC adaptors. The EX3 was enabled for USB from the start as is the EX1R.

Not only can I confirm that the MxRs work in the EX1R, they also work FASTER (from rec-stop to green light), and there's a rec-inhibit if the card is busy doing something, so probably more reliable too.

Hi Jon,

I posted this today...

http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/sony-xdc...ing-ex1-r.html

We'll be releasing more results of testing in the coming days.

But as a result of the first round of testing I have done with different cards so far, the speeds have been very good in the EX1-R.

The ATP cards definitely work the MxR and e-LCR.
