Very noisy footage on black background
Hi,
I just wrapped up a shoot with a client and was viewing some of the footage in FCP and the footage looked a lot noisier than I'm used to with the EX1. It was a 2 camera shoot, so I know it's not a single camera issue. Lit well, shot on a black background. Lit with Rifa 1K, Rifa 500w, 2 Arri 300w from the back for hair, etc. Gain on both cameras at 0 Iris at around f 3-4 I'm not very 'educated' on the picture profile settings and am wondering if fiddling with some of the adjustments would have helped the issue. I'm just used to getting very clean footage with my EX1s, especially with the gain set at 0 and not cranked up. Any ideas? Thanks, Jim

Can you post a still frame? Was the background quite dark?

Did you change the gamma perhaps. Gamma 1 is very noisy.
