Firmware Upgrade for EX1....? (EX1R features?)
I assume the answer to my question is a simple: no way, but I have to ask. I'm wondering if Sony has given any indication of another firmware upgrade for the old EX1 that might give it some of the new capabilities. Specifically, I'm thinking that inverting the image ought to be something simple to do in a firmware upgrade and it would be useful for folks working with lens adapters that do not invert the image. Probably there are some other "new" features that could function equally well in the "older" model.
I know that manufacturers more or less don't care about the folks who already spent their money but it would be very nice to see a vendor bring the first wave of folks some attention with this approach. |

I've heard there will be a firmware upgrade to allow using Sony Memory Sticks but don't know what other features it'll include. They wont be able to add HDMI port through firmware of course. The problem we don't know to what extent certain features are dependent on hardware changes.

If they just include the option to assign Overcranking to one of the preset buttons it would make life so much better then having to make menu changes and scroll all over the place for such a simple task.... Record Cache would be an added bonus.... The first one would be a simple menu update...and can be done...Will it???
