Need Help:How can I Convert SxS HD to XDCAM SD?
Hello all...
I have a shoot coming up in a few weeks and the clients needs me to shoot 16x9 SD xdcam...so correct me if I am wrong, as I want to do this: Shoot the news conference as a normal XDCAM EX 16x9 HD video....then take the SXS card and import it to the clip browser and then export using "MXF for XDCAM DVCAM" to a hard drive, then give the hard drive to the editor. If I do this way...will it work? Also, the clients uses Sony Vegas, v7 and might upgrade to V9..so the other question is: if they have Vegas version 9..can they convert the files from HD to SD 16x9 inside the program? many thanks....

I don't use Vegas myself, however a good friend of mine does. He runs an EX1, drops the BPAV into Vegas, edits away, then outputs to HD or SD depending on client need (he mostly shoots weddings)... I'm not sure what settings he uses/changes in exporting, but it is possible.

Give them the raw files (complete bpav folder) and give the m a copy of clip browser, then they can export as whatever they want.
Paul.
