Kata DVG-59 camera glove for EX3

Kata have finally released the DVG-59 for the EX3. It is a semi moulded camera glove that is a snug fit on the EX3. I have a pre-production one and it's really good. It's not a substitute for a full rain cover but certainly protects the camera from occasional splashes, dust and knocks and bumps. I know several DVINFO members have asked where I got mine so here at last is the link..

Alistar, is the viewfinder cover part of the kit as well?

Page 144 of the Sony EX3 manual: "Do not cover the unit while operating. Putting a cloth, for example, over the unit can cause excessive internal heat build up."

Like Charles, the potential heat problem was my first thought. Difficult to tell from the photos if they have left places for sufficient heat dissipation.

The viewfinder cover is part of the kit. I have used the cover in hot deserts and in arctic cold. It stays on the camera most of the time and I have never experienced any heat issues.

I have seen a Kata EX1 prototype but as far as I know it's not in production yet.

Any idea how this compares to the PortaBrace offerings? (I see they have a model they say works with the EX1 too)
