Basic advice on transfering .mp4 files from data DVD to FCP
I need advice on how to instruct someone who has FCP7 to be able to download/ingest .mp4 files that I put on a data DVD to send them. Since I am a PC user only, I really haven't paid attention to the actual process of getting XDCAM-EX files into FCP. Does one need both XDCAM Transfer utility AND Clip browser for Mac? I need to be able to point this person to the right software downloads for his MAC in order to be able to view the files on his MAC (outside of FCP) as well as use the .mp4 files in FCP. It seems logical that he would need both to accomplish this.

If these are just .mp4 files, then they just need to drag & drop them to the FCP browser (of course, this should be done after copying them to their local drive).

They are files within a BPAV folder. I assume it is necessary for the other person to install XDCAM Transfer utility on their computer? Can files be then accessed directly within FCP?
