New EX1 R and Hand Hold Ability?
Has there been any indication from the current reviews that the balance (i.e. hand hold ability)and weight issues of the EX1 have been addressed and or improved upon?
Thank you in advance. |

Yes, they have changed the design of the strap and have re-designed the shape of the hand grip to re-distribute the weight on the hand. Should result in less fatigue. They have been listening.

It's much more comfortable to hold. They have raised the strap which stops the camera from twisting to the left. It's a big improvement. The camera is still heavy and want's to lean left, but it is now easier to hand hold.

Thank you for your reply.
Too bad the weight issue has not been addressed to bring it closer to the range of the Panasonic HPX 170's 4lbs. Nevertheless, it appears that there has been some improvement, just not enough to justify the purchase when I already own an EX3. I had been hoping for a true hand hold-able, quality camera with the size and features of the aforementioned Panasonic but with a higher level of resolution than the current offering... dream on. |
