File size mismatch during card download- what causes this??
I'm in the middle of a shoot with two EX1's and we've been having sporadic problems with mismatching file sizes during download:
We are running Shotput Pro on a MBP / OS 10.5.8 to two G-Drives via FW800 and will occasionally get a warning from Shotput which tells us that the metadata files that accompany the clips inside the clip folders do no match in file size. (Say all those files are 32kb on the card-- when copied over they might read 4k, 3k, 12k, 6k) This also happens with drag-and-drop and Clip Browser. This is happening with 2 cameras and four different cards, and has never happened ever before using these exact cameras, cards, laptop, and shotput version. The one thing that changed on this shoot is that we gave each card a label (so it mounts to read Card A-1, Card B-1 etc etc) and started using "All Clips Delete" instead of "Format Media" to clear the cards. When this problem occurred on Day 1, we switched back to "Format Media" and the problem stopped... and then started again the next day! Any ideas on what might cause this?? I'm also curious if anyone has a breakdown of exactly what each of those support files in the clip folders contains/does?? Thanks in advance for any help,
