Anton Bauer QR-EX3 Gold Mount
I am considering the purchase of an Anton Bauer Dionic 90 as well as the QR-EX3 mount and have encountered a few posts on the net suggesting that the mount/battery combo may have a tendency to fall or dislodge itself when the camera (EX3) is moved from a level position to some other gravity influenced attitude. As is often the case on the net, information can be somewhat skewed and I wonder if there are any users of this combination on this forum and what their experience has been?
Thank you in advance. |

I'm very happy with the combo.... plenty of power with the dionic and very good weight balance to the EX3' form factor (besides more "pro" look added).... unless you have to turn "upside" down your camera you donīt have nothing to worry ..... but, yes, I donīt know why the adapter doesnīt seem to "click" on the battery compartment to make a safest grip to the camera body.... however, I never have had any issue on this.... highly recomended....
good luck

Oddly enough, the Anton Bauer site (installation pdf) seems to imply that the mount clicks into place in the same manner as the Sony battery but obviously that is not the case. On the other hand, I cannot envision a situation where I would be inclined to turn the camera upside down. Thank you once again. |
