St Anthony sand dunes
Back from my week long vacation on monday. Been throwing together lots of vacations videos. Thought I would share one with the group. I think it came out pretty fun to watch.
Shot with an Ex3 and SR11 mounted as a helmet cam. Kawie Wars July 2009 on Vimeo same video on youtube for comparison. YouTube - Kawie Wars July 2009

I'm very jealous...I love St. As but have been unable to get out there yet this season. How did your cameras do with the sand?

Wow!
Erik, this is again a nice clip from you.... only the SR11 doesn't look like the perfect helmet cam. Hmm, maybe you should try to mount the Ex1 on a helmet. lol |

I have a tripod mount bolted to the side of my helmet so I could put the EX3 on there if my neck could take it....LOL
I put masking tape on the SR11 to protect it from the sand. The lens cover is protected by a cheap wide angle SD lens on the front. The EX3 I usually armor it with plastic wrap and tape but on this trip the air wasn't so thick with sand so I was just careful. When I go to Dumont Dunes it is fully protected though. thanks for the comments guys!!

Erik,
I forgott that you have a Ex3... thought it was just an Ex1 which is smaller. Yes I know the sand problem also.... killed a lot of my equipment at Nellis and Amargosa Dunes, so for private videos I also wouldn't risk to get sand into a camera. Best wishes, Swen P.S.: On 24th September we are planing to move from Germany to Vegas, so maybe we can ATV ridinging together. You with a Ex3 and I with a Ex1 helmet camera. Know I know for what the KTM neck brace system is made for. lol |

wow so you really mount the EX to the helmet? Got any pictures?
This is another video from the trip and it is 100% SR11 Helmet cam. I used a memory card and record at a lower bit rate. Gives me about an hour of video. Be nice to use the harddrive but the slightest bump and it shuts down. :) I mostly ride At Dumont, I am a drag racer. I compete in all the Four Stroke Wars series. I only use Apex to test these days but I used to ride there almost every weekend. Kawie Wars dune ride on Vimeo
