XDCAM EX to PDW-U1
I know there are a few threads on this topic but none that are recent. Can you finally backup EX1/EX3 mp4 files directly to the PDW-U1?

I still have been unable to find an answer online. The last time I talked to a sony rep you could store small files (like a script or storyboard). But what about a few 8GB files?

Full write back to the U1 is not yet enabled. Right now you can write XDCAM MXF files into the Clip folder on the disc and up to 500MB of data into the General folder. With an updated coming soon (and by soon I mean.. August sometime) they will enable the ability to write data to the UserData folder on the disc which can hold up to approx 20 GB on a 23GB disc and 48GB on a 50GB disc. In other words.... I was told yesterday at a Sony training event that data write back to the U1 IS working with the latest firmware/software on PC's but not yet on Mac's. I have no way of checking this though.
