Writing Back to the Cards
Hey all,
Once I have finished an edit, is there any way to dump the completed master back on to the cards? I want to do a screening on my HDTV, and I can drive it with the camera, but I have no other way to get a 1080p signal to it - so I'd love to just put the edit on to the card and play it directly from the camera into the set. Possible? if so how? Thanks in advance. |

What edit platform do you use? On a mac with FCP you can export .MP4's by using the "Export", "Sony XDCAM" option. I believe Premiere CS4 can also export MP4's. You may need to use clip browser to "import" the MP4 to the SxS card.

search this thread,
I wrote step by step instructions for this process for FCP. There are some tricks to get this to work. I would imagine that the process is similar for a PC. |

Kevin,
Thanks so much... was searching the wrong keywords... great description. And the 4GB limit isn't a big problem, because it plays back clips seamlessly, so I can break my video into chunks that will be <4GB and write them out separately. |
