EX3 SDI and Tricaster
I am faced with a desicion shortly at our church to set up to record the services for broadcast.
The system I am going to go for is the Tricaster Broadcast system as we do events out in the field which this system is great for its portability. I currently use an EX1 and have enjoyed using it, apart from some of its limitations. I am thinking about getting 3 EX3 and hooking them up to the tricaster with SDI. Is anyone here doing something similar to this or have done in the past? I have used the basic tricaster system in the past with just composite from Z1's so am familiar with the capabilities it has. I have never used an SDI system before and was wondering if there are any pitfalls or things to consider before going down this road. Thanks Dustin |

I reviewed the Tricaster Broadcast for Videography some months ago and actually used an EX-1 going SDI into the Tricaster as one of the test cameras. As long as you obviously downrez the output to SD, the combination works great.
You do realize that Newtek has announced an HD version for about $15K. |

Hi,
Yes I did, thanks. Since the post I have been speaking to my local Video Production distributors and they are suggesting the Sony Anycast system instead. Has anyone had experience with it? |
