FCP and XDCAM EX Clips - Gray Swatch Across Thumbnails?
Recently something has happened to XDCAM EX clips I've imported into Final Cut Pro, they have a horizontal gray swatch across the middle. The clips seem to otherwise behave normally, editing and showing up fine in the canvas and viewer, but it's annoying to have the thumbnail covered up all the time in the Sequence and Browser thumbnails.
Does anybody have a clue of what is going on? See the attached images for what I mean. |

Remove the CalibratedSoftware plugin for EX MOV playback (decode) which should NOT be installed on Final Cut Pro systems.

Hi Craig, thanks for the advice, I removed all traces of the CalibratedSoftware stuff, it was a Quicktime Plugin, couldn't find it in the FCP plugins.
It didn't immediately make the gray bars on existing clips in the browser and timeline disappear, as I kind of expected, seems this is part of some data when they were imported into FCP while CalibratedSoftware was installed. Also strange, but even after the deinstall of it, (and a reboot) XDCam Transfer still showed one of the source BPAV files thumbnail with the gray swatch, maybe it's cached in there somehow. However using it to convert it to MOV and them importing into FCP resulted in a normal (non-gray bar) thumbnail. Thanks! |
