Sony EX1 8GB Rebate Extension - March 31, 2009?
Okay, I have a printout from Sony's rebate site, the rebate-zone site, dated 11/3/08, that says:
080074B - PMW-EX1 SxS Memory Card Offer Receive 8GB SxS Memory Card by mail following purchase of a Sony model PMWEX1 XDCAM EX Camcorder. Offer valid on purchases of eligible products from APRIL 1, 2008 through MARCH 31, 2009. (then a half-page of the usual conditions of sending UPC code, etc.) I went to their website and this promotion is showing as expired. I then Googled the extension and there's all kinds of people saying it's been extended and they have confirmed it with Sony. I just called Sony and they said, it's expired, the website has been updated. Huh? Can they un-extend their own offer after-the-fact? Has anyone gotten their 8GB card lately, AFTER the original expiration? The form I have here clearly states the date March 31, 2009. The Sony gal on the phone (who was very nice) put me on hold three times to triple check, and each time she said it's expired, so I kindly spoke with a supervisor who told me the same thing. ??? I told her I could scan it and email my form to her, it's from their own website, but she said they don't receive email. ???? You can't even email Sony people? She said I can fax it to her, so I'll have to go and try and track down a fax machine somehwere (do they still have fax machines in the business world in this day and age?) :^D Anyway, just wonderin' if any of you have encountered any denails of this March 31, 2009 extension? They pulled the offer off the website about 2 weeks ago (maybe more). I think it was a mistake that they had it on there to begin with but since it was there, they should honor it. |

Thanks, Barry... I haven't heard back from them yet, I can't imagine them denying the rebate with it right there in print, which I printed directly from their rebate website. As soon as I hear word, I'll post it. I let my wife handle the rebate stuff and she saw it didn't expire until March 31, 2009 so she wasn't in any big hurry. This was back in Nov 08. Obviously we would've taken care of it then if we didn't see the March date.
