Try searching for EIAJ04, which is it's proper designation.

Vortex Media makes a ready made adaptor for this. It's in the $40 USD range. Well made. Saved my bacon a few times. It gets used regularly.

UNBRANDED|MP-204L.|DC PLUG - 3.3MM WITH CENTRE PIN | CPC http://uk.farnell.com/lumberg/1636-0...questid=107088 I'm looking to buy some myself, but the CPC shipping charge is silly. I'm in Leeds where farnell is based, so I'll try to get something from there...

What I need is a power tap plug that fits my sony v mount battery on one end and the sony dc plug on the other.
Anybody seen anything like this? Or the other possibility is an adapter to allow the use of the Sony v mount batteries on the camers. Thanks Ronnie Martin www.dirtracingvideo.xom

I just cut the tap cable- IDX | X3-P2 D-Tap Cable - for X3 Light to Sony Cameras | X3-P2
and sony adapter cable you can get from Vortex or ebay, or you can go ST-7 ST-7 Protech Shoulder mount Adpater for PMW-EX3 and PMW-Ex1

Thanks for your reply Buba: I noticed on one of the sites you recommended that there was a device that appeared to fit in the conventional EX-3 battery opening that allowed the
Anton Bower type battery to fit on the back of the EX-3. Is there something like this for the Sony V type battery?

Ronnie-
If you want to use v-mount batteries on your camera, check out the Bebob adapter for v-mount batteries. They are extremely well engineered, and mount very solidly to the camera using the screw mounts under the shoulder pad and the cold shoe on the back of the camera. (it even provides another cold shoe so you don't lose one from the use of the mount) And, it provides two D-taps and FOUR hirose power taps. I have one on my camera and love it. Be advised however that you will not get battery condition information in the VF from anything but the stock Sony batteries. Here is a link: bebob COCO-EX3-V V-Mount Battery-Adapter for Sony EX3. I would highly recommend this for anyone using a v-mount battery. I have the IDX Endura 80s, and one of those will run my camera with two wireless receivers all day.

Unfortunately, the COCO EX3 mount only works on the EX3. While the power requirements would work, the mount itself is designed specifically for the EX3. I do not know of a v-mount available for the EX1, but there's probably one out there....
