Monitor

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to attach a Portable DVD player to the EX1 and use as a monitor on the set? (I am not worried about resolution, just as playback for the director)

And if yes, which cable should I buy to connect them?

Thanks a lot!

Lucas

Yes you can, you just need to make sure your portable DVD player has a 'video in' socket and that should allow you to plug your composite cable that came with your camera directly into the player (most players today will have a video in). If you don't have the original lead it's a common and cheap sony av cable that you should be able to pick up locally for under 10 £/$

One thing to think about also, is buying an av extender (i got mine from a dollar store while in new york) and its just a little gizmo that allows you to extend your lead to give you some good distance from the camera. You shouldn't have any problem finding them, they re very common.

Sorry - misunderstood. Thought you meant physical attachment to a tripod or camera. Above answer is correct. Composite using the special cable that came with the camera and the proper setting in the menu.
