Fujinon XS8x4as-XB8 lens
Anyone have a chance to try this lens yet on their EX3?

Paul
I have one that I've been showing off during my EX3 classes. It's wide for sure and really made a nice image in our small demo area. I didn't notice any unusual distortion.. actually much better then some other wide angle ENG lenses. The build quality is very nice and the functionality is the same as the standard EX3 lens. Andy

Thanks Andy for the quick response. Do you have any demo footage on your site?

Hey Paul
I sent you a link to download the files. I'd rather not post it here because it's pretty big and on my personal server. I can post some image tomorrow though. Andy

Here are some images from the Examples I set. I just went to our showroom floor and shot on the wide end of the standard EX lens and then switched to the wide and did the same shots. The lines on our ceiling can help to identify wide angle lens distortion. This lens has very similar distortion as higher end ENG lenses.

No worry Ed just like you I am looking at the options.
One nice thing about this lens is it was built for the camera and all functions work. The only other options I have found are the Fujinon 1/2" 13x4.5 I think those are the right numbers I am on my phone, and Canon has similar but the are both full manual I think and 3 to 4 times the price. Then the adapters which distort way too much for me. |

wide angle for ex3
Hi Paul, I think you are referring to the 3.3 x13 Fujinon at around $13K.
