a good mini B cam for EX1?

In the way that the Sony A1e makes quite a good, small, portable B camera to the Z1, any suggestions for a smaller companion (HD, file-based) for the EX1?

JVC HM100. It uses XDCAM EX codec. It's a small 1/4" 3 CCD camera which lists under $4000. As to the camera picture quality, we'll have to see when it's released in a few weeks.

don't know how well the pros would like it but I use a HDR Sr11. At Minute 3:08 in this video I switch from an EX3 to a SR11 for a few races..

Erik,

This is very heartening. I've wondered what I could use as a B cam for my EX3, and didn't really consider my SR11 to be a possible solution. Of course, my "B" shots will generally be framed and lit differently, and I won't be generally blending it together as you've done, so I think I should be okay.

Thanks for the sample!

Just remember in low light it will be harder to blend. The SR11 or any of the other "best Buy" camera lose a lot of detail as the light goes away. I don't think you could combine the two in a night shoot without it looking really drastic. Also if you are buying new, the new XR520 (replacement for the SR line of cams) has a new exmor R sensor that is even better in low light.
